The next Star Wars project from Lucasfilm is rapidly approaching. The recent formal announcement of The Acolyte’s release date of June 4, 2024, adds to the already exciting television schedule for the month, which includes The Boys, The Bear, and The House of the Dragon.
Disney and Lucasfilm are set to unveil the first trailer for the project tomorrow morning. Furthermore, recently the company provided a synopsis that states,
“In The Acolyte , an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….”
The show appears to be adopting a crime thriller approach, which is different from anything observed in the live-action Star Wars universe. Along with the narrative for the first look, a poster was also released.
Like the former series Ahsoka and The Mandalorian, this one will span eight episodes and take place in the final years of The High Republic, one hundred years before Episode One: The Phantom Menace.
For all things Star Wars and Lucasfilm related, keep an eye on The Reel Insights, and don’t miss The Acolyte when it streams on Disney+, June 4, 2024.
