MrBeast, the most popular person on YouTube, has agreed to run a new competition series produced by Amazon MGM Studios. The project, called Beast Games, will be based on his channel.
According to one description, Beast Games is “the biggest reality competition series in television history.” It appears like Amazon will never run out of money. They haven’t hesitated to spend a lot of money on content creation. With The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, they currently hold the title for the most expensive TV series ever. Now they add most expensive competition series to that list.
A grand reward of $5 million will be up for grabs for the show’s 1000 contestants, making it the greatest TV show award payout ever. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Amazon emerged victorious in a bidding war to become a major partner of Jimmy Donaldson and his YouTube brand. It was also revealed that Donaldson negotiated the project’s complete creative control.
