Timothée Chalamet has had a stellar few months in the press, following his roles as Willy Wonka last Christmas and Paul Atreides in the highly acclaimed Dune: Part Two. Chalamet looks to his next role as Bob Dylan in the upcoming James Mangold film, A Complete Unkown. The film will tell the story of a young Bob Dylan, who shakes up the folk music scene when plugs in his electric guitar at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.
Recently surfaced set images depict Chalamet embodying a young Bob Dylan. It was recently revealed that Chalamet, was working with Austin Butler, famous for his role as Elvis Presley in Elvis, to refine his performing style while filming Dune: Part Two.
Chalamet met with the drama department of Hibbing High School during a visit to Dylan’s hometown of Hibbing, Minnesota, in January of this year. The fact that this was the first celebrity to visit the tiny northern Minnesota town in a long time caused local news stations to blow up.
Mangold is slated to film the singer’s story. He just directed Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, his take on the Indiana Jones saga. After directing Walk the Line, a musical biopic about Johnny Cash, in 2005, this will be the director’s second musical biopic. Additionally, he will be directing a future Star Wars movie that was revealed in April 2023.
