Today, Apple TV+ unveiled Franklin’s first trailer. There will be eight episodes in Franklin, with the first three airing on the Apple streaming service on Friday, April 12. The remaining episodes will then be released every Friday going forward.
Back in February 2022, it was revealed that Tim Van Patten would be directing and Kirk Ellis would be writing the series. A few months later, Howard Korder became an executive producer and writer on the project.
The show, which will adapt Stacy Schiff’s book “A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America,” will feature Michael Douglas attempting to embody the titular character. The narrative delves into one of Franklin’s biggest bets throughout his career. At seventy years old, Franklin engineered the 1778 Franco-American alliance by outwitting French informants and British spies.
