Following up his viral performance of “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars on Sunday, Ryan Gosling traveled to Austin, Texas, for the annual South by Southwest film, media, and music festivals. Gosling declared at the premiere of his new movie The Fall Guy that he would not be singing, much to the disappointment of those in attendance.
According to early reports and reviews from SXSW, the film crushed expectations with the live crowd. David Leitch, who gave the film’s introduction alongside Ryan, commented,
“This film is really personal to me, having been a stunt man for 20 years, it’s amazing that Ryan could bring that to life,”
“A love letter to stuntmen” is how director Leitch described his action comic take on the same-titled 1980s television series. Hannah Waddingham and Emily Blunt also feature in the movie. The Release date for The Fall Guy is May 3, 2024.
South By Southwest is taking place in Austin, Texas, March 8 – 16, comprising many anticipated premiers such as The Fall Guy, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Roadhouse, and Alex’s Garland’s new controversial A24 piece Civil War, which premieres tomorrow night (March 14th).
