HBO’s House of the Dragon has suddenly gone viral on the internet, in true Game of Thrones fashion. In this instance, it’s because, HBO Max debuted not one, but two trailers for the forthcoming season 2, which will air in June. With the announcements of The Acolyte, The Boys, and The Bear for June, it looks like it will be one of the largest TV release months in recent memory.
Following the conclusion of season one, the ‘civil war’ between the Hightowers and the Targaryens will be carried on in the series. On Thursday, two trailers depicting the events leading up to conflict were published, one from the viewpoint of each house. A creative method of promoting a much awaited television season.

It was revealed last year that House of the Dragon would start filming in the middle of the 2023 Hollywood strikes. This was because the performers were not members of SAG-AFTRA; however, many people thought that they ought to have stopped production in solidarity, thus this did not go over well.
The series will make its premiere on June 16, 2024, and star Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen are among the returning cast members. As in season one, the show will continue to air once a week. For all things House of the Dragon, keep checking back with The Reel Insights.
